Congratulations to Sara Hajari for winning 1st Place Research Project Award at the 2021 Lassonde Undergraduate Summer Student Research Conference

Congratulations to Sara Hajari, a LURA student working in the Stem Cell Engineering Lab under the supervision of Dr Sachlos for winning 1st Place Research Project Award at the 2021 Lassonde Undergraduate Summer Student Research Conference.  Sara’s summer project involves development of 3D porous biopolymer scaffolds that mimic the tumour microenvironment of acute myeloid leukemia stem cells and are able to support their long-term survival in petri dishes in order to conduct chemical drug screening leading to the identification novel anti-leukemia therapeutics. She will continue her research as a Master student in the Stem Cell Engineering Lab. Well done Sara!
